Santiago Peak – April 2024

Got a chance to go off-roading in a used car we bought recently. The Maple Springs Trailhead gate was finally open again after months of rain. I saw there was rain forecasted again and figured I would try out the trail before I lost my chance again. All the photos below were taken with my new Pixel 8 Pro. It takes decent photos. The zoom is pretty good too. One of the photos here shows a California Quail from the driver seat inside the car through the windshield. Another shows the mountains of Big Bear and San Bernardino still capped with snow. Orange County and LA were shadowed by thick clouds which made me feel at times on the trail like I was in an airplane when I would look out the window of the passenger seat
