Oaks of OC

I went for a hike at Irvine Regional Park (located in the hills of Orange, CA) in December 2023. The Oak trees at sunset remind me that at one point, these lands were filled with Oak woodlands that local indigenous Acjachemen and Tongva peoples revered. I wonder if these trees (or other trees in the park) are old enough to remember when the California Grizzly used to take refuge in its shade.
